I know some of you will be on your Summer holidays but preparation for next season should be fairly high on your list of things to do at this point in time.
Your Pre-Season Account is enclosed and payment must be sent to Mick Thomas (Treasurer) by no later than 1st September. The Account includes an initial charge for 15 Player Registrations per team. If you register more than 15 per team you will be charged for the additional players at the end of the season.
You should be completing Player Registrations now and sending them to Karen Andrews (Registration Secretary). This is a very busy time for Karen so the earlier you get the forms to her the more time she will have to complete the process. Please remember you must register at least 12 players per team by 1st September so that you will have enough eligible players to start the season. If you are registering a player for the first time, don’t forget the form needs two photos. If you are registering a player who was a member of your Club last season you need a new form and send this with the photo counterfoil from last season. If you are registering a new player who played for another Club in the League last season you need a new form and to get the photo counterfoil from his last Club. If players are leaving Clubs owing money, the Club is entitled to retain the photo counterfoil until any debts are paid.
The season will start on Sunday 20th September and end on Sunday 30th May 2010. The first set of Fixtures will include games for Clubs whose pitches are available during September. Those Clubs who have pitches in the Castle Point area that are not available until October will be allocated "away" games where possible. If you are sharing a pitch, please let Ron Bright (Fixtures Secretary) know the first date you can use your pitch. If you have entered the Essex Junior Cup or Trophy and are drawn to play at home in the Preliminary Round, please note that this round will be played on Sunday 27th September. If your pitch is not available on that date you must inform the County Group Officer as soon as possible.
Handbooks for 2009-10 are to be collected on Monday 14th September from the Len Forge Centre, Eastwoodbury Lane, Southend. Please ensure one member of your Club attends to collect the books between 8.00pm and 8.30pm. Please let me know immediately if there are any changes required to the information for the Handbook.
I regret to have to inform you that Stallions FC have had to withdraw from the League due to lack of players. Division 3 is therefore reduced to 9 Teams. However, a late application was received from a new Club and the Committee has approved their acceptance into the League. The Club is called St. Luke's Elite FC and will be playing in Division 6
Clubs who won Cups/Trophies last season are reminded that they must return the Trophy Indemnity to me as soon as possible.
The Officers and Committee wish you every success in the new season.
Rob Pickup - Hon. Secretary.
